QCB meets QuIC: IGNITE – The European germanium quantum information route

Wednesday, 10 July, 2024 until Wednesday, 10 July, 2024 - 11:00 am to 12:00 pm | Zoom
Event Details

QuTech is proud to coordinate the IGNITE project, led by Principal Investigator Menno Veldhorst.

We are excited to share our latest results with the QuIC Members.

The IGNITE project, short for Integrated GermaNIum quanTum tEchnology, is dedicated to advancing scalable and fault-tolerant quantum computers through innovative use of semiconductor technology and germanium qubits.

This Info Session is the start of a series of QCB presentations. The idea of this event series is to foster the transfer of knowledge and ideas from the science to industry.

Associate Professor at QuTech, Delft University of Technology, and the Research Lead of the Quantum Computing Division Menno Veldhorst

He is a pioneer in semiconductor quantum technology, was the first to demonstrate universal quantum logic in silicon, and his group realized the most advanced germanium quantum processors. His contributions to the field have been mentioned as one of the ten physics breakthrough in 2015, he has been awarded the Nicholas Kurti Science Prize in 2019, and is included as a visionary in the MIT Technology Review List of 35 innovators under 35. Menno Veldhorst is the leader of the IGNITE consortium, which aims to take advantage of Europe’s leading position in germanium quantum technology.
