Position: Working student (“Werkstudent”) – Q-Expo Event Production Support (M / W / D)
Job Description
The European Quantum Industry Consortium e.V. (QuIC) is looking for a talented, motivated, hands-on, and well-organized working student (“Werkstudent“) to support the production and execution of its upcoming flagship event Q-Expo. The next edition of Q-Expo will take place on 18 – 20 May 2026 in the Spanish Basque Country (Bilbao, Spain and side events in San Sebastian, Spain). Find out more at: https://qexpo.org/.
This internship is ideal for a student who is eager to gain practical experience in event production, marketing, and international stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced environment.
About Q-Expo and QuIC:
Q-Expo is the annual global event organized by the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), Europe’s largest quantum industry association with over 210 members and affiliates.
The event brings together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and first-time users to explore the latest advancements in quantum technologies and foster dialogue between industry, government, and international organizations. The 2025 edition welcomed 800 participants from 21 countries, with over 30 exhibitors and sponsors.
Key responsibilities:
As a working student (“Werkstudent“) you will support the QuIC team with the conception, planning, organisation and implementation of Q-Expo 2026. Areas of work include:
- Supporting the team during creative processes as well as the conceptual and operational development of various event formats for Q-Expo
- Assisting with day-to-day project management and event-related tasks
- Supporting the preparation of floor plans and gaining an overview of logistical topics
- Acting as a support contact for exhibitors, sponsors and visitors by handling inquiries and coordinating follow-ups
- Gaining hands-on experience in event management within an international and interdisciplinary team
Your profile:
- Student enrolled in a university majoring in event management, business administration, communications, marketing, or a comparable field of study.
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking skills in English. Business proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial spirit: able to take on multiple parallel tasks, stay well organised and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and enjoys working as part of a team and in an international environment.
- Passionate about the creation and realisation of international events.
- Ideally, you are based in Munich, Germany and have some initial professional experience.
Position Details
Work will be conducted mostly remotely, from a home / mobile office, using digital tools to connect with QuIC members and external collaborators.
Start Date: 1st March 2026 or earlier
End Date: 30th June 2026
Expected (approximate) workload: March = 20 hours / week; April = 20 hours / week; May = 20 hours / week; June 10 hours / week.
