Security and Resilience in a Quantum Age

The aim of this proposed research programme is to strengthen a future-proof and sustainable knowledge base in the field of quantum technology. The focus is on fundamental research, with further development and long-term applications in defence-relevant contexts in mind.

Status: IN PREPARATION

Deadline date: 13 December 2027 14:00 (s.t.c.)

Description

The call for proposals distinguishes between two research lines. The first research line aims to explore solutions to make entanglement ‘portable’, by generating it at a single location and then storing it long-term in a portable memory. The second research line aims to increase our knowledge and confidence in existing and new quantum-resistant cryptography, which operates on existing (conventional) ICT systems without the need for quantum hardware.

This research programme has been established through a collaboration between NWO and the Ministry of Defence.
