Scientific Preliminary Projects (WiVoPro)
Funding objective and purpose of the grant:
The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) therefore intends to initiate so-called “Scientific Preliminary Projects” (WiVoPro) in the field of photonics and quantum technologies on the basis of the “Research Programme Quantum Systems – Developing Cutting-Edge Technology. Shaping the future.”
The aim of these preliminary projects is to investigate scientific questions with regard to future industrial applications in quantum technologies and photonics. They are intended to complement existing research funding and build a bridge between basic research and industry-led collaborative funding.
The projects are carried out by up to two research institutes in a maximum period of three years. The scope of funding amounts to a maximum of 600,000 euros per project, including a project lump sum.
An assessment and selection of the submitted project outlines takes place every six months. The cut-off dates are 15 June and 15 December of each year..
Deadline date 15.06. and 15.12. of each year until 15.12.2027
